  in 1976, my friend bruce price was in contact with jehovahs witnesses who had become disillusioned through the debacle with 1975. bruce was the leading voice among the sda ministry in working for jws.

  at the time, i was a member of the sda church.

  although i left them about 25 years ago, to this day bruce and i enjoy a strong and genuinely warm friendship.. so, in 1976 bruce invited me to a meeting with one of the jws who was leading the disquiet in his congregation in dandenong (victoria, australia).

  wait for it...the day when a non anointed will be on the Governing Body

  i believe that one of the next big doctrine changes will be that the non annointed can be on the gb (and eventually the whole gb will be non annointed).. now that they have slipped through that they are all domestics (the "idea" that jeffery jackson loves so) the current gb are also "domestics" when not meeting as the gb, just as the rest of the rank and file and other annointed are.. not hard to see how they can now bring in any "domestic'' annointed or not to be on the gb.

  once one is in, they can bring in more as they swap over.. stand by for more new light from the celestial chariot.... they would not have made so much of the whole ''domestic'' thing just because jackson had the happies for it, there will be a reason behind the manourver i am sure.

  i can't see it as essential to the change of fds from the remnant to the 8. that they could have just stated and it would have been accepted without question.

  My pioneer sister called yesterday

  as soon as i saw the number i knew something bad had happened.

  seems my mother (71) has breast cancer in her remaining breast.

  her first time was in 2001. i volunteered my son's services for taxiing back and forth or whatever is needed.

  sorry to hear the news of your mother. my mums is a cancer survivor, i hope yours will be too.

  sounds to me that you should throw the burden of 'taxi service' right back onto the pioneers lap though.

  they should not be allowed to have it both ways. too often the lofty pioneer or bethelite gets free pass on parental responsability and it gets put fair and square on the familiy who are not so 'special' or not in the 'truth' at all.

  the year once 1983 and the brother who use to study the bible with me drove by and had a full on "charles manson" looking facial hair and beard.

  i asked tina, a friend what's up with him?

  tina was 19 and a hot red-head woman who was partially in the religion but had problems with fornication.

  i have magnificent side burns...rockabilly heaven.

  i suspect the whole grow a beard thing may be simply that it was once forbidden so feel like a reminder that you are out every time you look in the mirror.

  Stay Alive Til 2020

  i've been playing around with wt statistics recently, helped by the great data available on jwfacts.com.

  i wanted to share somehting with the community, maybe you've seen something like this before.. continuing the trend of decline seen during the last 30 years, i was able to extrapolate the year when wt growth might finally end.

  if trends continue, we may only have to wait about 8 more years, 9 years to see it reported if the wt decides to report it at all, to see publisher growth end and possibly reverse.. the graph shows the annual growth rate of average publishers during the last 31 years.

  hate to rain on the parade but...

  If this graph had been done in 2005, the straight line of decline would have probably been drawn at 2010 for the zero growth or even negative 'growth',

  so IF the next 5 years have some more peakes as have the last 6 years, then that might not happen till 2030, 2035 etc etc...decline yes but i cant see even zero for a lot longer than 2020

  yes i think we can rightfully say that the governing body will hold the record for this title.

  the corporation is our mother, our father, our provider and divider of holy spirit, and no one can come to god except through the corporation,, with the wheel inside the wheels full of eyes, and jehovah hovering over head with cherubs at the 4 corners.. yes the governing body are the high rollers of the organization/corporation that you can offer worshipful thanks and obedience to, because they as they so often have proven from many scriptures with reason defying logic that they are the chosen one's of god almighty to lead his people into the promised land flowing with friendly lions and tigers just waiting for you to pet them while downing a nice pomegranate smoothy.. all hail jehovah's visible corporation/ark of the covenant!

  Avoiding Homelessness

  i'm falling apart here.

  the false teachings of the jw enrage me; we started covering the information for the jeremiah book, and i was outraged at how they twist up the scriptures to meet what they want to say.

  my dad wants to consider the "god's love" book during family worship evening.

  perhaps the reality is that its time to strike out on your own.

  many young people leave home voluntarily at 15/16. (i did at 16, my wife did at 14) Somethimes education has to wait, take second place to survival, you know, get a job and pay the rent.

  It might mean at times you are doing it tough, very tough. I lived 6 months in a 2 man tent once...

  i heard very few if any, of the new members on the governing body actually go out in field service more than three hours a month.

  is there a reason why the governing body would excuse themselves from the master's commandments?

  jesus christ never said "spending time writing rules and regulations" was part of matthew 28. .

  actually, taking another look at Herd's bag it does look photoshopped in too...I had a bag very similar to that and it was much bigger. It looks about the size of a ladies handbag in that pic...
